The first in the Medtalkz Antibiotic Prescriber Course series focusing on outpatient antibiotic prescribing with insights into microbiology, pharmacology and pharmacology principles, diagnostics and clinical scenarios. There is also a section on the impact of antibiotic prescribing and IPC practices to reduce infection. Lastly, prophylaxis in infective endocarditis and asplenia, and peri-operative antibiotic prescribing.

Course aim and objectives:
* To better understand out-patient infections with the aim to improve diagnosis and management.
* To ensure that antimicrobials are used effectively through appropriate selection, dosing and duration of use.
* To provide a meaningful contribution to ALL fields of medicine involved in prescribing, dispensing and administering antibiotics.

This course is a self learning course and should take between 12 and 14 hours to complete.
There is a 20 question MCQ final test requiring 70% to pass.
